What can we do
while our activities are restricted

Stay physically active

It helps your mental and physical health. There are lots of workout and yoga videos online for all levels of ability from beginner to advanced. Some groups are getting together via meeting apps like Facebook Live, Zoom, Skype to do exercises together and spur each other on!  Now is the time to get your children or grandchildren involved in these since many other energy outlets are blocked.

April/May is Healthy Communities Month. Check out our suggested activities.

Walking and hiking are encouraged provided you are not in self-isolation due to travel or illness.

Playgrounds are unfortunately closed. Children have trouble remembering to self-isolate and research shows that viruses can last on hard plastic surfaces for a significant time.

Support Local

In these times we need each other more than ever and small businesses are struggling to get through this. You can support by buying gift certificates online; this will provide an income stream for them now and can be used when everything is up and running again. Gift certificates make great gifts for birthdays and other special days which keep coming up but you can’t go shopping. Online is an option but again - think local whenever you can.

Support your local newspaper.

Local connection is more important than ever. Your advertising dollars will let people know you are still there and you care. Share innovations you have come up with and your plans for the future.

Have a Pretend Evening Out!

Some restaurants have become creative with take out and delivery options. Ordering out gives you a break and helps them retain their staff .
